Privacy policy

MiloHan.com (MILO Research, “the site”) is a personal research and learning website operated by Milo Han. This policy describes how we handle personal information when you browse, create an account, study courses, use membership features, or contact us.

1. Information we process

  • Account information: your email address, display name, hashed password, and relevant registration, sign-in, and email verification timestamps and status. We do not store plaintext passwords.
  • Learning records: lessons you visit while signed in, lessons you mark complete, and related timestamps, so you can resume learning and see your progress.
  • Subscriptions and transactions: plan, order or subscription identifiers, invoice amounts, currency, and payment, cancellation, and refund status when you purchase an available service. Payment details are handled on Stripe-hosted pages. The site does not receive or store full card numbers or security codes.
  • Technical information: hosting, content delivery, and security services may record your IP address, browser or device information, access times, requested paths, and errors to deliver content, investigate problems, and prevent abuse.
  • Email and correspondence: messages you send us, plus recipient addresses, delivery status, and necessary error records for account verification, password resets, and payment notifications. Please do not email passwords, full card details, or unnecessary sensitive information.

2. Why we use information

We use this information to provide and maintain accounts, verify payments and course access, save learning progress, send necessary service emails, answer questions, maintain security, and meet applicable legal obligations. We will explain other purposes and obtain authorization where required before using information for them. Without required account or payment information, related features may be unavailable; public content is generally still accessible.

3. Cookies and local storage

Session cookies maintain your sign-in, security cookies help prevent cross-site request forgery, and browser local storage remembers your light, dark, or system appearance preference. You can clear or restrict this storage through your browser. Doing so may sign you out or reset your preferences.

The site application currently has no advertising profiling or cross-site advertising tracking scripts. Infrastructure providers such as Cloudflare may process technical data for security and content delivery under their own policies. If we introduce nonessential tracking that requires consent, we will provide the relevant information and choices first.

4. Service providers and external links

Necessary information may be processed by Stripe for payments and billing; Cloudflare for website security, content delivery, and Stream video delivery; MailerSend or the configured email delivery service for account and transaction notices; and hosting and database providers. Displaying a social icon does not send your account details to that platform. Once you open an external link or scan a QR code, the destination’s own policies apply.

5. Retention, security, and international processing

We retain account and learning information as needed to provide the service; billing, refund, and dispute records as needed for transactions, reconciliation, and applicable legal requirements; and logs and email records as needed for security and troubleshooting. Information no longer needed should be deleted or anonymized. Backup copies may be removed on a later backup cycle. We do not promise one fixed retention period for every category.

We use safeguards such as access controls, password hashing, and secure transport, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Infrastructure and service providers may process information outside your country or region. Where applicable law requires procedures for international transfers, those requirements must be met.

6. Your choices and requests

You can change your display name in your account and manage browser storage in your browser. To request access, correction, deletion, a copy of your information, or other applicable data rights, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity and will handle requests under applicable law. Required retention, incomplete transactions, or disputes may limit immediate deletion.

The site does not currently offer self-service account deletion. Deleting an account and canceling renewal are different actions. If you have a subscription, please also state any cancellation request and check your renewal status on the billing page. You may also complain to a data protection authority with jurisdiction.

7. Minors

The site is primarily intended for adults. Minors should use it with a guardian’s guidance and obtain any required consent before providing personal information or purchasing a service. Contact the email above if you believe a minor’s information has been collected inappropriately.

8. Updates and contact
